ABOUT US

The Baggy Blues are made up of current and former NSW male and female players. We travel to regional towns through event-based tours that include matches, clinics, presentations and community dinners. These events use lived experience, storytelling and connection to spark open conversations about mental health, reduce stigma and remind people they are not alone. The Baggy Blues is a community-led mental health initiative that uses the power of cricket to connect, support and inspire rural communities across New South Wales.

Founded in 2012, Baggy Blues has delivered over 20 rural tours and engaged hundreds of players and community members through sport and shared purpose. Our goal is to reach more communities, build strong local partnerships and create lasting impact through cricket.

The program is built on a commitment to mental health awareness, inclusion and connection to the country. We honour the strength of rural communities and celebrate the role of cricket in bringing people together across generations, backgrounds and abilities.

We represent those doing it tough, those who have overcome and those still finding their voice. We stand with rural communities, mental health advocates and the next generation of players to change the game one conversation, one match, one town at a time.

OUR VALUES

Mental Health Awareness
We are committed to promoting mental well-being, breaking down stigma and encouraging open, honest conversations.
Community Engagement
We believe in the power of sport to unite people. Cricket is our way of building connection, trust and support in rural communities.
Inspiration and Empowerment
We share the real stories of current and former players to show that resilience, strength and openness can change lives.
Diversity and Inclusion
We welcome all backgrounds, genders and abilities. Everyone deserves a place in the game and in the conversation.
Education and Development
We create opportunities for learning and growth, both in cricket and in life, by building skills, confidence and mental resilience.
Connection to Country
We honour the unique cultures, histories and landscapes of rural NSW, strengthening ties with local communities through cricket.

OUR IMPACT

Since 2012, Baggy Blues has delivered more than 20 community tours across regional NSW, engaging hundreds of current and former players through cricket, connection and purpose.

Each tour includes cricket clinics, local matches, school visits, mental health presentations and community dinners. These events are designed to create safe, supportive spaces for open conversation, shared experience and genuine connection.

Our impact is measured not just in numbers, but in moments. When someone shares their story for the first time. When a community feels heard. When a player’s journey sparks hope in someone doing it tough.

We work closely with local mental health services, community leaders and partners such as Rural Adversity Mental Health Program (RAMHP) to deliver meaningful outcomes, reduce stigma and build resilience across rural and remote regions.

Every conversation matters. Every visit creates change. Cricket is our platform. Connection is our goal.

MEET THE TEAM

Board Members

Baggy Blues is led by a group of current and former cricketers and leading experts in their field who volunteer their time, stories and support to make a meaningful difference in regional communities.

Our team brings together players from across generations, including NSW representatives and grassroots champions. Each is united by a shared commitment to mental health awareness and the belief that cricket can open the door to real connection.

Whether running clinics, speaking at schools or sharing their experiences at community dinners, our ambassadors lead with empathy, resilience and purpose. They show that strength comes not just from performance, but from honesty, lived experience and a willingness to listen.

More than 300 past and present players have been involved in Baggy Blues events to date. Together, they form a powerful network of support and storytelling that helps communities feel seen, supported and inspired.

SPONSORS & PARTNERS

Our sponsors and partners play a vital role in helping Baggy Blues deliver meaningful mental health programs across rural New South Wales.

With their support, we are able to take current and former cricketers into communities that often face isolation, stigma and limited access to mental health resources. Their contributions help fund travel, accommodation, event delivery and mental health training, while also supporting our ability to grow the program and reach more towns.

We work closely with a range of partners including RAMHP and local champions to ensure every tour is grounded in community need and local knowledge. These partnerships strengthen our connection to the country and help us deliver impact that lasts beyond a single visit.

Together, we are building a network of care, visibility and hope. We are always open to new partnership opportunities and welcome organisations that share our values and want to be part of changing the game for mental health.

If your organisation is interested in supporting Baggy Blues or learning more about our sponsorship opportunities, please get in touch.
